Testimony from Azucena Meza, Participant in the Training Program for Laboratory Technicians and Analysts at Terronera
It’s an honor to share this moment with you all. My name is María Azucena Meza Ramos, and I’m thrilled to have completed the training program that opens doors to new career opportunities in mining, particularly in the metallurgical lab at the Terronera mine.
I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to be part of this project. It has not only allowed me to learn new skills but has also helped me grow both professionally and as a proud member of the San Sebastián del Oeste community.
Our community has a deep historical connection to mining, and now, with the opportunity to work on a project as important as Terronera, I can see how new possibilities are unfolding—not just for us but for future generations. During this program, I’ve gained valuable insights into the processes within the metallurgical lab, which has inspired me and given me the confidence to apply what I’ve learned in a meaningful way.
As I join the team at Terronera mine, my goals are clear: to keep learning, contribute to the success of the project, and ensure our work has a positive impact on both the environment and our community. Responsible mining, as demonstrated by this project, has the potential to create incredible benefits, and I’m excited to play an active role in that journey.
This training has been a truly enriching experience. Every day brought new opportunities to deepen my understanding of mining and to see how each of our roles directly contributes to the bigger picture. Mining isn’t just about technical operations—it’s a human endeavor where safety, ethics, and commitment are essential for success.
On a personal level, being part of this program has given me a sense of belonging to a project that goes beyond resource extraction. It focuses on the growth and development of the people involved. From day one, I felt supported by the instructors and my fellow participants, which gave me the confidence to face future challenges with determination.
Now, as I complete this program, I feel more prepared and excited for what’s ahead. Terronera is more than just a source of employment—it’s an opportunity to improve our quality of life and grow professionally.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this training possible: to the organizers for their vision and hard work, to the instructors for their dedication and patience, and to my peers for making this journey so collaborative and rewarding.
Thank you for believing in us and giving us the tools to be part of a project that I’m confident will bring lasting benefits to all.
