About the Project

Endeavour Silver’s Terronera Project is a new mine under construction in Jalisco state, Mexico. We acquired the property in 2010 for the purpose of building a high-grade, silver-gold underground mining operation.

Following a decade of planning that included exploratory drilling, technical reports, environmental assessments and evaluation of various operating scenarios, construction began in 2023 and is advancing on schedule. Initial production is expected in late 2024.

Responsible Development

Mexico is one of the world’s premier mining jurisdictions with a long history of successful mining. Our Terronera Project is located in the mountainous region of San Sebastián del Oeste, a historical mining district. The site is approximately 50 kilometres northeast of Puerto Vallarta, a popular and safe tourist destination. The region is heavily forested and the surrounding valleys are occupied by cattle ranches, cornfields and coffee and agave plantations.

Our new Terronera site is an original discovery that has grown in size and scale over the last decade. While the concept of building a new mine is complex, it is also extremely exciting for bringing more employment and business opportunities, as well as improved infrastructure to a local area. At the same time, Endeavour Silver is committed to supporting the economic activities in the region in a sustainable way.

To ensure responsible development, we are advancing the project in line with the Equator Principles (EP4). EP4 is a risk management framework that helps organizations ensure appropriate large scale development or construction while considering and mitigating potential adverse impacts on society and the environment.

Project Infrastructure

Once fully built, our Terronera Project will have extensive onsite infrastructure and services to support the mining operation. These will include:

  • A process plant
  • Mine portals
  • Truck shop and wash bay
  • Maintenance workshop and warehouse
  • Road and helipad access routes
  • Onsite power generation and distribution
  • Waste and tailings storage facilities (“TSF”)
  • Sewage and potable water treatment facilities
  • Employee accommodations
  • Dining room
  • Administration building
  • Laboratory
  • Mine emergency services
  • Plant nursery

There will be three tunnel entrances to our underground mine, called mine entry portals
(Portal 1, 2 and 4).
