The 2025 Corn Festival Was a Great Success in Santiago de Pinos!

On October 5, the community of Santiago de Pinos was filled with joy and tradition during the 12th edition of the Corn Festival, a celebration that honors our roots, promotes togetherness, and recognizes the value of native corn, a symbol of identity and sustenance for families in the region..

Driven by the initiative of the Ejido de Santiago de los Pinos, the fair featured the enthusiastic participation of its ejidatarios, who organized every detail with great dedication to deliver an unforgettable event.

Our Terronera mine proudly joined the celebration, supporting logistics and sponsoring special prizes for the largest ear of corn and the largest cornfield—both of which stood out this year for their impressive size thanks to the generous seasonal rains.

One of the most moving moments of the day was the performance by the “Ezequiel Peña” Rope-Flourishing Group, made up of children and youth from the community. This group is part of the initiatives promoted by Terronera through its Summer Courses, which aim to strengthen local talent and preserve regional traditions. Their presentation was met with applause from all attendees, reflecting the company’s commitment to cultural and community development..

During the event, families enjoyed a wide variety of dishes made with corn, along with traditional music, cultural activities, games, and a craft exhibition that showcased the talent and creativity of the people of Santiago de Pinos.
